Description

The Focusrite RedNet D16R MkII links 16 channels of AES3 digital audio in each direction with a Dante network. It is a 1U rackmount interface with channel-level control, sample-rate conversion, and redundant network and power connections.

Features

  • 16-channel bidirectional AES3 digital I/O over Dante
  • AES3 connections on two AES59-standard DB25 connectors
  • Additional XLR AES3/DARS and RCA S/PDIF connections
  • Individual channel level control with RedNet Control
  • Sample-rate conversion on digital input channels
  • Two locking etherCON connectors for redundant networking
  • Dual power supplies with locking IEC connections
  • Automatic power and Ethernet failover
  • Front-panel network, PSU and clock status indicators

Why We Like This

It connects multichannel AES3 hardware to Dante without requiring an analogue conversion stage. Redundant connections and status indicators also suit installations where operators need to identify network or power issues quickly.

FAQs

Q: Is this an analogue converter?
A: No. RedNet D16R MkII is a digital AES3-to-Dante interface.

Q: Can it work with digital devices running different sample rates?
A: The source specifies sample-rate conversion on all input channels.

Q: What cabling is used for the 16 AES3 channels?
A: Two AES59-configured DB25 connectors carry eight channels each.
