Description
The Focusrite RedNet X2P adds two microphone inputs, stereo line output, and headphone monitoring to a Dante network. Its two Red Evolution mic preamps and local input mixer make it suitable for network-connected recording and foldback monitoring.
Features
- Two Red Evolution microphone preamps
- Two-channel analogue I/O over Dante
- Stereo line output and dedicated headphone amplifier
- 48V phantom power and Air mode
- High-pass filter, polarity reversal and stereo preamp linking
- Local input-mix control for foldback monitoring
- PoE for audio, power and control over one Ethernet cable
- Selectable local lockout of preamp or output settings
- Mic-stand mounting provision
Why We Like This
X2P provides local microphone capture and headphone listening without requiring separate desktop interfaces. The local input mix and lockout controls are useful when remote operators manage the preamps.
FAQs
Q: Does the RedNet X2P require a separate DC adapter?
A: The source describes operation through Power over Ethernet using a PoE network switch or injector.
Q: Can a performer adjust local monitoring?
A: Yes. A local input mixer supports more-me-style foldback adjustment.
Q: Can settings be protected from local changes?
A: Yes. The source specifies lockout for preamp settings, output settings, or both.
