Description

The black EAW AC6 is a self-powered two-way full-range ADAPTive column loudspeaker for portable and installed professional sound systems. Six 6-inch low-frequency drivers and thirty horn-loaded dome tweeters are individually amplified and processed. Resolution 2 provides venue-specific vertical coverage control, while analog, AES and redundant Dante connectivity, front serviceability, internal signal/power loop-through and modular redundancy support complex installed and production systems.

Features

  • Six 6-inch low-frequency cone drivers and thirty 19 mm horn-loaded dome tweeters
  • Thirty-six independent Class-D amplifier and DSP channels
  • 120-degree horizontal coverage with ADAPTive vertical coverage
  • Adaptive Performance coverage and directivity control through EAW Resolution 2 software
  • EAW Focusing and DynO processing
  • Analog, AES and redundant Dante audio connectivity with loop-through support
  • Onboard diagnostics and Adaptive Healing monitor and correct system performance
  • Universal 100-240 V AC power input with power-factor correction
  • Suitable for outdoor installation to IP54 when the optional input and output weather-protection covers are properly installed
  • Front-serviceable modular construction
  • Up to 10 AC6 modules can be arrayed in one column
  • Optilogic automatically detects each module's position and angle in an AC6 array
  • Coverage presets can be recalled from the rear-panel LCD/encoder or by contact-closure inputs
  • Audio, data and power connections are internally looped through to the top of the cabinet for array wiring
  • Three internal power-supply/amplifier modules each support two LF drivers and ten HF drivers
  • All three power supplies operate in parallel so the AC6 can continue operating if one supply fails
  • Adaptive self-healing can compensate around a failed transducer or acoustic module
  • Entire loudspeaker is serviceable from the front without removing the column from its mount
  • Two independent analog inputs with loop-through provide additional input redundancy
  • AES/EBU digital input and primary/secondary Dante networking expand system integration options

Why We Like This

The AC6 combines precise, software-defined vertical coverage with onboard amplification and flexible networked audio connections for both installed and portable systems.

FAQs

Q: What is the EAW AC6 designed for?
A: It is a powered ADAPTive column loudspeaker designed for high-performance music amplification in portable and installed professional sound systems.

Q: Does the AC6 require an external power amplifier?
A: No. The AC6 has built-in Class-D amplification and DSP, with one independent amplifier and processing channel for each of its 36 transducers.

Q: How is AC6 coverage configured?
A: EAW Resolution 2 software controls ADAPTive vertical coverage. Coverage presets can also be recalled from the rear-panel interface or by contact-closure inputs when a computer is impractical.

Q: What audio connections does the AC6 support?
A: It supports analog, AES and Dante audio, including primary and secondary Dante etherCON connections and analog loop-through connections.

Q: Is the AC6 suitable for outdoor installation?
A: Yes, but its IP54 suitability requires the optional input and output weather-protection covers to be installed correctly.

Q: How many AC6 modules can be combined in one array?
A: EAW states that up to 10 AC6 modules can be arrayed in one column.

Q: What does Optilogic do in an AC6 array?
A: Optilogic automatically detects each AC6 module's location and angle in the array to reduce setup time and configuration errors.

Q: Can presets be recalled without a computer?
A: Yes. EAW allows stored coverage presets to be recalled from the rear-panel LCD and encoder or from the contact-closure inputs.

Q: Can the AC6 continue operating if one internal power supply fails?
A: EAW states that the three power supplies operate in parallel, allowing the AC6 to continue operating if one power supply fails.

Q: Can the AC6 be serviced without removing it from its mounting?
A: Yes. EAW states that the entire product can be serviced from the front.
