Description

Optimized for radio and television broadcasting applications, the HD 26 from Sennheiser are on-ear, closed-back monitoring headphones with excellent passive isolation. With ActiveGard technology, the HD 26 headphones protect your hearing and provide three attenuation settings for ideal audio clarity.

The ear cushions are soft, comfortable, and fully replaceable, just like the cable. The cable has been specially designed to reduce mechanical noise, further enhancing sonic transparency. With ActiveGard off, the HD 26 can reach a high maximum SPL of 128 dB, allowing you to hear critical details in very noisy environments, while the earcups also swivel for when you need to tune into your surroundings. The HD 26 headphones include a cable clip and a 1/4" TRS plug adapter.

Broadcast-Centric Ergonomics

While many headphones can become prone to annoying mechanical noise caused by the movement of the headphone cable in its socket, the HD 26 features a special cable shape that reduces structure-born noise completely. Further ergonomic features include easily replaceable cable and cushions, a split headband for easy fitting on any head, and swiveling earcups for one-ear cueing for DJs.

ActiveGard Hearing Protection

ActiveGard is a sound compression system consisting of a sophisticated electrical circuit incorporated into analog headsets manufactured by Sennheiser. The patented system utilizes compression technology to remove the energy from an excessive incoming signal transmitted through the telephone system, leaving the signal free of distortion. Benefits include:
  • Protection against acoustic injury caused by sudden sound bursts
  • Limitation of maximum SPL to meet international telecommunication standards (118 dB SPL)
  • Keeps the volume of a sound peak at a safe and comfortable level
