In Digital Vinyl mode, the tone-arm-free system removes the risk of needle skipping. The MAGVEL CLAMP secures the record and directly controls the digital music file, delivering a vinyl-like feel without requiring a tone arm. When switching to analog records, the experience mirrors that of the PLX-1000 turntable.

Performance feel can be adjusted using the dial on the MAGVEL CLAMP to change the perceived record weight. Torque level is configurable via utility settings, offering High, Mid, or Low startup behavior. A front-panel switch allows adjustment of stopping speed, from sharp stops to extended, gradual slowdowns.

The PLX-CRSS12 includes four built-in MIDI-mappable Performance Pads positioned below the platter for quick access to features such as Hot Cues and samples. A dedicated button switches control between pad banks. An integrated OLED display provides at-a-glance information including BPM, key, deck number, tempo range, and access to utility settings when connected to DJ software.

The turntable is compatible with Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox, allowing Digital Vinyl mode operation when connected to supported mixers and a computer.
